Transmission’s long running and pervasive quest for musical justice known simply as ‘Transmission Soundalikes’ has come accross this particularly nasty offender. Hamburg producer, Tensnake’s ‘Coma Cat’ which has been a cross-genre dancefloor anthem since its recent rerelease. Little did we know its riff has been pinched wholesale from this Anthony & The Camp track. Its a still a great track but its had the torch of fiery justice shone upon by Transmission Soundalikes.

The difficult second episode. They laughed, they succumbed to some technical difficulties (like forgetting what number track to play, or what tracks were called), but most importantly they they played some great new music.

We’re all big fans of Jape at Transmission and were really happy to see his last album finally bring him the success he deserves. His newer demos are taking things in a slightly different direction. We stumbled across this a while back and figured its worth sharing again. The track in question is ‘Mets-Merized’, recorded by the New York Mets back in 1986, when sports stars copying hip-hop style raps was pretty much standard fare for any team going to major final (for further research check The Anfield Rap). The liquid lyrical flow on display in this track is breathtaking.

Our heart goes out to the engineers on this track. These are no doubt the best takes they could out of the Mets star who come across like reanimated mummys who’ve just been punched in the face. The addition of echo effects to attempt to give their raps some kind of rhythm make it all the more comical.

This Saturday our summer season kicks into full flow with the much anticipated return of Berlin’s D.I.M. to Transmission at Button Factory.
